DFN-Verein is the non-profit association that manages the operation and development of Germany’s National Research and Education Network (NREN).
DFN-Verein provides a high-performance infrastructure to interconnect national research communities with each other, and through the world, and to the global internet.
DFN-Verein’s mission is to foster research and higher education by promoting innovation and development as well as operation and utilization of network resources.
ZKI is the German association of Higher Education IT centres and public funded research organizations.
The members represent all research driven universities, many of the universities of applied sciences and other kinds of universities.
ZKI is focusing on bilateral knowledge transfer and support between Higher Education IT and companies as well as public organizations.
The German Initiative for Network Information (DINI) supports this development. DINI e.V. is the supra-regional association of 144 scientific libraries, media centres, computer centres and professional societies in research and teaching in Germany.
DINI was founded in order to promote the improvement of information and communication services and the necessary development of information infrastructures at universities on a regional and supra-regional level.
